'Dwellings' as a Design center in Vero

Designing is one of the most important thing on Home design. The former KB Home design studio in Vero Beach has a new name and will be getting some new employees.

Curt Robison, sales manager for the new home design center called "dwellings," said the studio will service builders, designers, interior designers, contractors who work on remodels and retail consumers.

"We can help local builders and designers expand upon the myriad of upgrade options throughout a home that is deserving to their clients," Robison said. "We pride ourselves on being a value added service to the local builders profession, to assist them in greatly increasing their upgrade options."

KB Home shut their Treasure Coast division and the Vero Beach design studio quietly in early 2007.

Robison is in the process of hiring about eight inside sales associates. A soft grand opening is scheduled for the beginning of May, Robison said.

"Vero Beach and the Treasure Coast has tremendous growth potential," Robison said.

He said the design center would service customers from Cape Canaveral to Palm Beach County.

The studio has several hundred household items to choose from including lighting, flooring, appliances, kitchen needs, cabinets, countertops and outdoor living equipment. Two special features at the center include a $20,000 stone tub and a shower that also serves as a tanner.

"It's going to be a fantastic place ... from flooring to appliances, there so much to choose from," said sales associate Kelly Freund. "We're going to have monthly cooking classes ... they will be open to the public."
